Nichols Park is located in the heart of Hyde Park, a diverse, vibrant community on Chicago’s southside.
The Nichols Park Advisory Council is a volunteer organization that represents the local community, advises the Chicago Park District, hosts events, organizes volunteers, and helps to maintain the natural landscape of the park.
We welcome community involvement of all types.

Our wildflower meadow is .3 acres of native prairie and savanna. Park stewards and community volunteers help to maintain the natural landscape.

NPAC hosts several events every season, including the Fourth on 53rd Parade, a summer concert series, a pumpkin patch, and more.

There are plenty of reasons to visit Nichols Park, including public art, two playgrounds, disc golf, and a memorial tree program.
Interested in volunteering?
Nichols Park relies on volunteers! Some examples of what you might find yourself doing:
planting native seedlings in the wildflower garden
mulching trees to help with water retention
assisting with seasonal celebrations (Pumpkinfest, 4th of July festival, etc.)
