Glow N Throw: A Family-Friendly Disc Golf Event to Benefit the 4th on 53rd Parade and Festival

Hyde Park Disc Golf is excited to announce Glow N Throw, a unique family-oriented disc golf fundraiser to support the beloved 4th on 53rd Parade and Festival. Join us as we light up Nichols Park on Black Friday - November 29th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, transforming the park into an entertaining disc golf experience for all ages.

This glowing evening of fun will feature six disc golf stations set up along the main path of Nichols Park, with baskets placed 25–50 feet from the trail. The event is designed to be stroller- and wagon-friendly, making it a perfect outing for families with young children. Each participant will throw two discs at each station and earn points:

5 points for making it in the basket
3 points for hitting the chains
1 point for hitting the basket
Teams of four will compete for the highest combined score, with FLASHY prizes awarded to all participants.

“We started Hyde Park Disc Golf in Nichols Park back in 2019 during the pandemic as a gathering for local parents, and it’s a joy to give back to the park that gave us our start,” said Tommy Inglis, President of Hyde Park Disc Golf. “The 4th on 53rd Parade and Festival is an essential part of our community, and we’re thrilled to support its continued success.”

The 4th on 53rd Parade is facing unprecedented financial challenges as costs to host the event have significantly increased. The Nichols Park Advisory Council is seeking new ways to raise funds to ensure this cherished tradition continues. Glow N Throw is proud to contribute all proceeds to this effort.

Suggested Donation: $10 per team of four.
